The Libertines are so easy to fall in love with. It’s true...
And I’m completely certain (now, more than ever) that they are the epitome of everything that rock’n’roll should (and could) be.
The Babyshambles Sessions were recorded in recent weeks (May 2003) in New York. The songs (demos, new, old, covers, etc.) were recorded onto 3 discs – of which only one copy of each exists. Peter gave the discs to a complete stranger in the lobby at the Chelsea Hotel and asked her to share the songs with the fans. And she’s done just that. You can hear/download the 40 tracks and read the story HERE.
I recommend you check out The Libertines shambolic covers of The Coral’s fantastic "Dreaming Of You" as well as the indie classic "Who’s Got The Crack?". Adam Green's on there too with his own (surprisingly good) version of "What A Waster".
