Monday Mourning
So, like I was saying earlier, rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard is dead. We'll remember him fondly for...
- storming the stage at the 1998 Grammy Awards to tell everyone "Wu Tang is for the children!"
- his 1999 arrest for posession of crack cocaine and subsequent plea that police "make the rocks disappear" (because he felt he was a role model for kids),
- his awkward meeting with Victoria Beckham,
- all the time he spent on the run from to po-po (to avoid jail and rehab) only to be picked up performing at his own concert,
- and, most of all, back in the day when he let MTV cameras film him and several of his 13 children arriving at the welfare office to pick up food stamps in a limousine.
He may not have contributed anything to society but he made us laugh and for that we will miss ODB, a very special man.
ANYWAY... The recording of Band Aid 20 is complete! Morrissey re-release! With DVD! Christmas! The Music's new single will be 'Bleed From Within' which just happens to be my favourite track from the new album. Scenestars has a hook-up for those in need of discovering Gang of Four. The White Stripes plan to record their new album in the next two months at Brendan Benson's house in Detroit. Oh and apparently they couldn't shut up when talking to The Guardian. The Libertines drama featured on Rolling Stone. Britney Spears has reportedly enrolled in college. I am trying really hard not to laugh as I type this. Especially after reading her Honeymoon poem! George Stroumboulopoulos is leaving Muchmusic to work for the CBC! From 10:51am Toronto. They finally think they've found Atlantis. Took 'em long enough. When bloggers date troubs result! Star Jones got married. Maybe there's hope for me after all.
