I'm going to reserve judgment on that duet but I cannot think of a single time where a duet between a musician and his/her lover (who is a not professional musician) has turned out well. Still I was shocked to read that Pete’s considered such a fashion icon.
If this is it for Weezer it’s been a good run. Still as much as I’m not a fan of their later work, they still deserve respect for picking quite a classy/intelligent way to potentially say their good bye in the linear notes.
I respect HMV’s decision. They did the same thing when Alanis gave the Seattle coffee chain excusive rights to the acoustic reissue of Jagged Little Pill for a month or so. If the artist(s) wants to take the money from Starbucks I respect that decision too. I’m sure he/she/they judge(s) potential lost sales against whay the ‘Bucks is willing to pay him/her/them. I’d rather see artists give consumers a choice on where to purchase their music but hey, it’s their prerogative to sell their work how they want—just like it’s our choice to purchase it or not. But to fault HMV (as some have) for taking a proactive stance to say they don’t agree with the artists decision is ridiculous. It’s a business and they can choose to make money or not make money however they want (as long as it is in their legal right to do so). As much as I dislike the of the high prices it charges for some albums, I do respect them for taking a stance in this case ‘cause fighting for the consumer right to choose where to purchase an album only helps us.
Oh no! Weezer can't be breaking up! I know they peaked a while ago and all their new stuff has been crap but...they were my favorite band in high school. This is DEVASTATING :(.
Lol, when you said paris is missing half her shirt, I thought maybe you meant it was super low cut or something. Hahahah. It was meant to be taken literally.
MikeD - I dunno, Kate's done some music stuff in the past to prove she's more than just a pretty face. I totally adore her version of "Some Velvet Morning" with Primal Scream.
Anonymous - I couldn't agree more (with the Weezer stuff) and THANKS!
modernmod - Ahaha, yeah, YOU WOULD!
Sarah - I know where you're coming from... but I'd rather they just leave it be NOW and not release any more crap albums.

ps: good luck in skool v.
love your stuff.
Ummmm I'd have to disagree with you on that last statement about Miss Hilton. I'd take her unclothed anytime.

My fav headline about the Smith's pic is from NME: The Smiths sentenced to public hanging!
Now that, my friend, is a great headline.
