teaching the underage kids to toga

  • The Duke Spirit released their debut album Cuts Across The Land today... It's hard to believe I met them a year ago (to this week) on the streets of Manchester when their crappy van broke down. Sigh. Memories.
  • Apparently Liam Gallagher is trying out the Miami Vice look.
  • The Ordinary Boys have a new official website!
  • What's with actress/popstars morphing into one another? Observe Jennifer Lopez looking like Whitney Houston (on the crack) and Lohan looking like Hilary Duff at Wango Tango.
  • Geri Halliwell is back with a new video for "Desire" in which she looks fantastic. So fantastic that we can ignore how lame the song and video are.
  • Ironically, I finally saw the video for Hard'Fi's "Tied Up Too Tight" and despite it being a cracking song they are incredibly dull looking. Tragic.
  • Thanks to Trent for posting this adorable photo of Angelina Jolie and her son Maddox from the new issue of Vanity Vair. Best evs.
  • Did anyone else catch Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice to All Creation on Discovery Channel last night? I found it RIDICULOUSLY ENTERTAINING.
  • I loved the return of cowbell (and Goulet!) on SNL this weekend.
  • Go to Take Your Medicine and listen to The Cribs. Because I say so bitches.
  • And, speaking of medicine, I'm off to the Doctor's so that's all for today kids.

Thanks for posting the link to Hard Fi's video. I saw them supporting Kaiser Chiefs a few weeks ago and they were amazing!

Great set of links as always, Dharlin'. First of all you were so right on about J.Lo. and L.lo—those resemblances are uncanny.

Secondly, my mouth was agape during that whole Geri Halliwell vid. If you haven't yet, take Rock Snob's advice and click that link. Also it couldn't hurt to put it on mute either.

Yea for Angelina and Maddox that picture was absolutely adorable.

Lastly, the Cribs are the mutt's nuts.

come on, 'Miami Vice' was a hot tv show. the return of 'Gene Frenkle' and 'Robert Goulet' was great. i personally liked the sketch featuring 'Dr. Richard Laverne', the 'swiss spy' and spokesman for 'Jaguar'.

I don't wanna start a fight 'cause Nat Mac and I go back to fruit rollups and monkey bars. But Miami Vice like much of everything that came out of the '80s was awful.

I probably mean more of it than you might think and less of it than my strong statement above implies. I do hold a soft spot for Short Circuit; I'm ambivalent about the butler and I really don't like Duran Duran. That being said I haven't given the group a fair shake in while. So I’ll add it to the to do list and along with ‘80s pop culture. Any other recommendations?

Speaking of Duran Duran, "Ordinary World" is used to quite good effect in the film "Layer Cake."

tfymd>> 80's recommendations? yes, the electronic game 'simon' and saying 'awesome to the max!' a lot.

'p is d'>> i noticed its use in the trailer, seemed like it fit.
