I haven’t updated in a while because everything is boring and you only deserve the best...Actually the real reason I haven’t updated is because I’ve been so distracted planning prank phone calls with my new favourite toy, The Jack Black Soundboard!!!
Trucker hats were never cool! The Strokes’ Room On Fire is out today. We likey. stellastarr*s performance on Last Call with Carson Daly of ‘In The Walls’ will make its on air debut on Thursday, October 30th at 1:30am (EST) on NBC.

5:00 PM
The Elliott Smith memorial service in Toronto will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at 5:00 PM at the gates of the Trinity-Bellwoods Park (located at
Queen/Strachan-Trinity). As at the NYC memorial, you are welcome to arrive at any time; earlier or later, to stay for a while or to simply drop by and leave pictures, letters, candles, thoughts and any other fond farewells. Binging a guitar would be lovely. I hope to see you there. Take care and dress warmly, it's getting cooler these days.
Beck, Bright Eyes, Beth Orton, Grandaddy are having a tribute for Elliott Smith. And you can watch a lovely video about Elliott Smith here.

Perhaps they could use a “Suicide Week” like the one Trent University is so famous for.

So Mister Ryan Adams has a new album on the way. It’s called ROCK N ROLL. He looks classic on the cover. You can download the MP3 for the song “So Alive” in the music section of his site. I think he’s trying to sing in a strange faux-Brit accent instead of his usual alt-country twang. The song itself is kinda cheesy in an ‘adult contemporary’ kinda way but it’s very ‘nice’. It’s a grower.
As for the album, I award him 10,000 points for song titles such as “Note To Self: Don’t Die”, “Do Miss America” and “Anyone Wanna Take Me Home”. Heart. He also gets props for “This Is It” (The Strokes anyone?) and “She’s Lost Total Control” (Joy Division?), “Wish You Were Here” (now come on - this is getting a wee bit silly)!
What a strange boy... I can barely wait!

MUAHAHAHAHAH! I really shouldn't laugh - but it's BURLINGTON (not The Great North) for Christ's sakes!!!
We just wrote a midterm. We feel like laughing. We feel we deserve to go out for a drink tonight (but we’ll try to stick to soda)!
Bran' spankin' new video for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s “We’re All In Love”. It’s gorgeous, chaotic, fucked–up and dangerous. We’re all in love with Rob right now. The way he slings that sledgehammer just makes me wanna… er… anyway…. The Kills postpone UK shows due to exhaustion. Maybe if VV ate a bloody sandwich once and a while... Say No To CRACK! Say Yes To SCOUTING! Fiona! Everyone’s favourite beautiful, bluesy (and oppressed!) white girl is back! New York Times is pretty decent today. Peaches Saves. As does Mike Skinner! Oh and FYI: Christ Died For Our Dunkin’ Donuts! (We are sooo going to Hell!)

Nooooo! Hosers will never be cool! I'm already saying Give'r far too much - I don't need this encouragement.
OK so I heard "Pass That Dutch"... I’m very disappointed! There is no Musical Youth whatsoever! What the fuck gives Missy?!?
Friday, October 17, 2003
This is HUGE news. It just made my day.
Missy Elliott is releasing “Pass That Dutch”, the first single from her 5th upcoming studio album.
The song alludes to Musical Youth’s BRILLIANT 1982 #1 hit “Pass The Dutchie”! Fuck yeah!

AlcoHoroscopes! I wish I had found this sooner! Mine’s pretty accurate…
LIBRA
Drinking style
"I'm jusht a social drinker," slurs Libra, "it's jusht that I'm so damn social?" Libra loves nothing more than to party, mingle and relate to everyone. Whether dipped in favor of Good Libra (with Insta-Friend device set to "on") or heavier on the Evil Libra side (they are little instigators when bored), the Scales can really work a room. Charming as they are, Libras are notoriously lacking in self-control, however, which can get them into all sorts of trouble -- including wearing their wobbly boots waaaay too early in the evening, flirting with their best friend's beau or even blacking out the night's events entirely. Oops!
Trademark cocktails
Aesthetic Libras like pretty, pouffy drinks like a pink lady or a brandy Alexander. That's the influence of Venus, their ruling planet, which also gives them a horror of crudely named potions like Sex on the Beach. They're fine with "normal" guzzles like apple martinis, but every Libra secretly just wants Champagne, and lots of it.
Drinking buddies
Jimmy Carter, Simon Cowell, Ani DiFranco, Janeane Garofalo, Hugh Jackman, Martina Navratilova, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sting, Oscar Wilde, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

I am now entering Day 2 of sobriety! HOLLA!
Good ol’ ROCKTOBER. Never disappoints. And neither did The Strokes & Kings of Leon who put on a killer show last night.
I've fallen back in love with Pete Yorn (again!) since he's made his painfully obvious he wishes he was Jeff Buckley. You gotta respect the man’s efforts. You should watch his beautiful, cheesy and educational music video for "Crystal Village". It's about falling in love...
... Oh and last night he played a few choice covers (with Minibar) in Nashville. The setlist was Velvet Underground’s ‘Waiting For My Man’, Elvis Costello’s ‘Oliver's Army’ and my favorite happy song by The Smiths, ‘Ask’. Bless him. How cute is the new NME cover? Montreal punks riot. This makes me laugh for some reason. Bunch of my kinda boys are having a tribute for Gram Parsons on November 15 in London.

My University did pretty well in a big new nationwide survey. Brock University came in 2nd place for “Quality of Education”. I plan on using this for validation the next time I'm feeling dumb and people tease me with things like “If you can walk and talk you can go to Brock”. HA! ... And you gotta love this quote: “At Brock, president David Atkinson said there’s nothing “particularly sexy” taking place on campus as far as teaching goes.” No shit Sherlock.

I’m in the process of what just might be the best weekend ever!
It’s a constant cycle of getting drunk and hanging over. And there are presents of course!!!
Remember back in the day when we didn’t like Peaches? We were so dumb! REM (who suck) covering Interpol (who don’t suck). Julian Casablancas takes young fan hostage!!! It took 'em long enough. After 4 horrible horrible years, Bradford How is finally leaving Muchmusic. I didn’t win Andy Rourke’s bass guitar. And I’m bitter. As a Smiths fan would be. The Thrills video for “Don’t Steal Our Sun” is dork-tastic. We heart them. Everyone has to stop talking about Kill Bill. I feel left out! 'Dirrty’ won Best Single at the Q Awards. Damn right!

Pete has been freed from prison and, just hours ago, joined his fellow bandmates onstage at a freedom gig!
There are pictures to prove it! The boys in the band are back together again!!!

The Master of Procrastination returns!
You can buy me THIS for my birthday! Help The Darkness save the planet in NME’s new game. It’s surprisingly fun. Everyone be lovin the Interpolski. YHNR has some new Strokes-y goodness including images and words from their Q magazine cover story. Hear some new British bands. Some may even be good! And while you're at it, take a listen to the new Distillers album ‘Coral Fang’. NYC’s Gawker Stalker: “I am saddened to report that Drew Barrymore and all members of the Strokes are re-banned from Gawker Stalker due to intense over-exposure. Likewise Parker Posey and Ryan Adams.” I don’t wanna do schoolwork. I’d rather learn that “Sharon Osbourne hosted blow-job classes for girls backstage at Ozzfest this summer”. (Thank you Popbitch!)

Miss Alana has kindly informed me Bowie has 'Hijack'd XFM this evening. He both agree it's kinda weird he's playing his own songs but it's worth a listen to hear his great radio voice!
