I think he’s trying to sing in a strange faux-Brit accent instead of his usual alt-country twang. The song itself is kinda cheesy in an ‘adult contemporary’ kinda way but it’s very ‘nice’. It’s a grower.
As for the album, I award him 10,000 points for song titles such as “Note To Self: Don’t Die”, “Do Miss America” and “Anyone Wanna Take Me Home”. Heart. He also gets props for “This Is It” (The Strokes anyone?) and “She’s Lost Total Control” (Joy Division?), “Wish You Were Here” (now come on - this is getting a wee bit silly)!

BUT, at the same time, I wonder if this "success" is undermined when the majority of songs have such titles as "Shake Ya Tailfeather" and "P.I.M.P.". Is it really a move forward for black music? Why is there only one "Where Is The Love?" in the top 10 and why is it in the lowest position? What do you think?
