because i'm bored

  • Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson insults Australian culture by insinuating that all of it can be learned from daytime soaps. He's being sarcastic I assume.
  • There's a new book about The Libertines called "Bound Together" written by NME editor Anthony Thornton.
  • Boadwee's "Why I Love Pete Doherty" post brings joy and sunshine to my heart.
  • Pete Doherty's made some New Years resolutions to kick drugs and win Kate back.
  • Kate Moss is the only woman in the world who can make a snowsuit look hot! I could make loads of cheeky remarks about how she loves the white stuff but I wont. On account of it being the holidays and all.
  • I saw King Kong yesterday and it was fucking SCARY. And totally awesome of course.
  • Tabloid was amazing last night. All the cool kids were out (including K-OS and members of Broken Social Scene). Good times.
  • I'm going on holiday for a week and I was a little nervous about how I'd look in a bikini... Until I saw these recent Tara Reid pictures. Thanks for making me feel better about myself Tara.

    happy christmas!

    last post on the bugle

  • I think everyone else has already gone on Christmas vacation because I can't find any music news today!
  • There is, however, a great article in The Guardian today about the "grassroots revolution in the record industry".
  • Toronto kids, pick up a copy of this week's Xtra and on page 27 you'll find Michael K's lovely Morrissey tattoo. Bless.
  • This is the coolest bus I've ever seen.
  • OK, that's it for me kids, I'm officially going on my Christmas vacation now! I will make one more post before the new year with some of my favourite albums and singles of 2005!
  • HAPPY HOLIDAYS! All the best to you in 2006 and thanks for your readership this year!

    the king of karaoke

  • #2! I'm so proud!
  • NME's Countdown to Christmas! I love looking back at Glasto pics from June!
  • Elton John got married! And to a nice Canadian boy! Bless!
  • Sugababes founding member has quit the band... No worries, the band will continue on as they have already found a replacement!
  • Gwen Stefani is preggers! It's so great because she's gone on and on about wanting a baby for so long!
  • Kirsty MacColl's mother still wants justice for her daughter's death. So sad.
  • All I want for Christmas is for Tucker Carlson to be shot.

    don't call it a comeback

    Monday, December 19, 2005

    herro

  • Pete Doherty has been arrested for driving under the influence. Fuck! He's like totally incapable of going a week without fucking up... In 2006, I resolve to get over him.
  • Time magazine named Bono one of the "Persons of the Year". WTF? He looks so mean and menacing on the cover!
  • Morrissey has answered more questions from fans and proves he is still the coolest rock star on the planet (cooler than Bono anyway).
  • Pitchfork have their chosen their top 50 singles of 2005. Its a decent list but the highlight for me was Art Brut taking both 14th and 15th place.
  • The following is just stupid... And therefore funny.

  • Thursday, December 15, 2005

    woohoo! i'm on christmas vacation!

Damon Albarn for Make Trade Fair.
  • Damon Albarn gets dumped on to support Mark Trade Fair. Lookin, er, not-so-good.
  • Ian Brown dumps on Chris Martin because he's Ian Brown and because he's fucking awesome.
  • Ozzy dumps on our Pete. Um... Pot. Calling. Kettle. Black.
  • Joy Division are writing new material.
  • I miss my computer already :(

    school's out!

  • What the fuck? KT Tunstall played in Toronto a few days ago! Who knew?
  • Listen people, you can't have a Smiths reunion without Morrissey!
  • Paul Weller says he will not reform The Jam. Ever.
  • Jenna Bush and Interpol share(d) the same coke dealer.
  • I'm just now finding out about Under The Radar's "Canada issue" with lots of pictures of pretty Canadian musicians.
  • Gotta go hand in my final paper!

    cerys

I should be studying for the exam I'm going to fail tonight but this news excited me... My beloved Cerys Matthews joined The Pogues onstage in Cardiff last night for "Fairytale of New York". I can't imagine anything more perfect.

    all my trials

  • Stylus Magazine's Top 50 Singles of 2005. Pretty damn good list.
  • The Decemberists have signed to Capital Records.
  • Ian Brown walks offstage after being pelted by plastic bottles. But he returned and finished the set... What a trooper.
  • Arctic Monkeys announce tracklisting for their debut album 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'.
  • Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys keeps badmouthing Pete Doherty and The Libertines. I'm not impressed.
  • Check out Pete Doherty's sweet ride.
  • Kate Moss is the best dressed woman of 2005 according to a recent poll... I like Kate but were they polling CRACKHEADS by chance?
  • Scarlett Johanssen manipulates her breasts in painful-looking ways. Jaysus. Give em some space to breath!
  • I finally saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire over the weekend. I thought it was awesome but really scary!
  • This Candybar Doll Maker is hours of fun. Check me out.
  • I have my final exam tomorrow and my final paper due Wednesday. Then I'm back with a vengence on Thursday.

    love travels at illegal speeds

  • Today's a sad day... so it's just a short update.
  • Thanks to Ian for sending me this article Pete Doherty and Babyshambles in the New York Times!
  • Graham Coxon is releasing a new album, 'Love Travels At Illegal Speeds', in March and...
  • Blur are set to start work on a new album this month.
  • Franz Ferdinand 'Making The Album' podcast... Oh and here's a link to the band's cover of Air's "Sexy Boy" which I found kinda disappointing.
  • Richard Ashcroft looked very dishy at his comeback show.
  • I have an exam tomorrow morning I should start studying for so that's all folks. Have a good weekend.

    school-core

  • My girl Nicole won America's Next Top Model last night. Fuckin right!
  • Arctic Monkeys debut album will be called 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'. It's being released in the UK on January 30th 2006.
  • We Are Scientists are playing the Horseshoe in Toronto on January 14th.
  • Today marks the 25th anniversary of the murder of John Lennon.
  • I'm gonna be school-core for the next week. Deal with it.

music's supposed to make you want to fight or fuck

    Friday, December 02, 2005

    sunshine

  • Pete N Kate are doneski. If he sells her out I'll be fucking pissed.
  • Harry Potter has AWESOME taste in music. And I sorta find him attractive in a forbidden/illegal kind of way.
  • The "astonishingly well pitched" KT Tunstall will provide guest vocals on the new Travis album. Her album is one of my favourites of 2005.
  • Kaiser Chiefs have revealed their "mystery illness" was Hepatitis A. Pussies.
  • This week's Holy Moly! has stupid contract clauses...
#1 - The Kaiser Chiefs had it written into their contract that whenever they say the word 'sunshine' the people who they are with from the record company have to stop what they are doing and smile. They've only tried it once and it was in the middle of an argument with the record company - and they did it, they all stopped and smiled!"
#2 - In Blur's contract it says that if drummer Dave is seen in public wearing pyjamas, EMI have the right to terminate.
  • Paris Hilton tracks on MySpace = WORST THING EVER.
  • Lady Sovereign show tomorrow night at Revival! I'm excited!
  • Happy weekending my pretties!
