Lately I've noticed that keep checking this blog (MY BLOG) to see if it's been updated. Yeah. Seriously. Like for real.
I clearly need to start sleeping or stop abusing unsafe energy-boosing beverages.
So in case you're a total FUCKTARD and missed watching Kaiser Chiefs on Letterman you can redeem yourself and WATCH IT ONLINE! Why? Because it's a FUCKING BRILLIANT live performance kids! Ricky busted out his scissor kicks and danced up a storm despite his busted ankle - what a trooper! Oh and I'd like to add that Ricky is looking quite tasty these days... Boys, if you want to win my heart, wear a suit and eyeliner, jump around a bit and soon enough I'll swoon. Noel Gallagher says the new Oasis album is better than 'Definately Maybe' so we will all run out and buy it even though will likely be shit. Dodge gives my old boyfriend Pete Yorn some love. That previous line might not be entirely true. Oh and if you didn't get pre-sale tickets for Ryan Adams Toronto show yesterday have no fear! The show's been moved to Kool Haus and there's another presale today 10a.m. - 10p.m. (password: cardinals). "Get this bitch a lard IV stat!" Loves it. Maybe it's because of the sleep deprivation but I thought this "Muffin Murder" animation was fucking hilarious! It's like all the fun of doing drugs and having a crazy trip without actually having to buy drugs, consume drugs, or trip out. I also endorse Flee-Flee Flah-Fluh and Action News at 6.
I clearly need to start sleeping or stop abusing unsafe energy-boosing beverages.

Morning updates today because I'm supposed to be writing a paper that I'm supposed to be handing in at Noon and that's not gonna happen so I'll be writing that paper for the rest of the day... So essentially this is a last-ditch effort at procrastination...
What does everyone think about the new Oasis single "Lyla"? Kaiser Chiefs are on Late Show with David Letterman tonight and I am SOFUCKINGEXCITED! Speaking of which, the band played the Spin offices yesterday. Damn those lucky smug music journalist bastards. Ian Brown tried to start a fight with a fan at a gig in Scotland on Monday night. This "techinical difficulties" bullshit is starting to get a little old Mr. Brown... PETA takes on J.Lo. More at JLoDown.com. Personally, I'm quite fond of my Grandmother's VINTAGE furs BUT I think it's pretty irresponsible of Mrs. Lopez to launch an entire line of FURS in this day and age. Plus, I still really like Sophie Ellis Bextor and I'll agree with pretty much anything she endorses. Arcade Fire are on the cover of this week's Time magazine (Canadian edition). Fuckin right. Watch the trailer for Keira Knightley's new movie... because she's hot. What better reason. OK, I need to get back to pretending to write papers (i.e. drinking my Red Rave supply and having lightswitch raves in my bedroom).

CNN DEATHWATCH
Terry Schiavo: still not dead. I wish her parents would shut the fuck up and instead spend their time wisely with their daughter. Rev. Jerry Falwell is on his way... to Hell (God-willing)! That fucktard won't be missed! The Pope aint looking too good either. Johnnie Cochran is dead... But who will play the 'race card' now?

Pledge your allegiance to the the United States of Me.
The Babyshambles new album is going well with the band laying down 12 tracks in 7 days! Quick! Before Pete ends up in jail again! Puffy's in town today! Brandon Flowers (The Killers) dishes out some fightin words on The Bravery. Could it be the new You Cock! rivalry? I hope so! I saw the new Louis XIV video for "Finding Out True Love Is Blind" and I liked it! I find is very aesthetically pleasing AND I kinda wanna sleep with the singer - not because he's particularly hot but because he seems like he'd be filthy in bed. Academic scholars from around the world gather in Manchester this week to study the influence of THE SMITHS on British culture. I live in the wrong country. Ugh! Courtney Love to play 'Deep Throat' star Linda Lovelace. Oh and did I mention that Beyonce is being considered to play Bob Dylan? Yeah, you read that right! McDonalds is trying to woo rappers. Whatever happened to credibility? Canada loves Go Fug Yourself and Stereogum! OMG! ANTM host/bitch/model Janice Dickinson, Omarosa (The Apprentice), Pepa (from Salt'N'Pepa) and "Balki" (come on, I know you all watched Perfect Strangers) are part of the new cast of The Surreal Life 5! Amazing! Oh Wendy's... I still love you and your Jr. Cheeseburgers (incase it wasn't obvious by looking at me). America has more problems than we ever imagined... Apparently, Yanks are too sleepy for sex! Are they crazy?

I hate this week already.
Torontoist reviews the last Blowup. Tear. Crowded House drummer Paul Hester committed suicide. Noel talks ya through the new Oasis album. A man of few words. Yanks can check out screenings of Morrissey's new DVD in major cities on the 28th and 29th! Jerks! Vincent Gallo talks to Gawker about the "stunt cock" controversy! Oh! That lovable crazy bastard! Seth Cohen, er, I mean Adam Brody's ex spills the beans. Apparently this is what the kids are drinkin these days (says my 17 year old little sis). I'll just stick with my Red Rave (the poor man's Red Bull).

I could never forget you...
THE FINAL BLOWUP GOES DOWN TONIGHT!!! Mani joined Ian Brown onstage at a show in Blackpool on Thursday night! Watch the new Kelly Osbourne video for "One Word". I think she looks great. Star claims Britney is officially pregnant. I hope they name it Cheeto. A few days ago in English lecture I found this "artwork" and felt obligated to share it with you. Enjoy.

I searched for over an hour but THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO NEWS TODAY.
Joy! Stream Morrissey's new CD, Live at Earls Court and watch live footage of "There is a Light That Never Goes Out" from the new Who Put the "M" in Manchester? DVD! This fills my heart with delight! I'm seriously considering crossing the pond and attending Glastonbury this year. If I were to make such a journey would anyone care to take me? Or let me sleep in their tent? Vincent Gallo's found himself in a "stunt penis" controversy. No worries kids! There will definately be a third season of The O.C.! I'm insecure about my body so I'll point out flaws in other people to make myself feel better... Shakira's got big hips (love her!), Kelly Osbourne goes to great lengths to look thin (love her), and even Paris Hilton has cellulite! Don't I feel better! Have a great (long) Easter Weekend everyone!

Caring is creepy.
Happy 37th Birthday to the very handsome and charming Mr Damon Albarn! The illustrated version of Pulp's "Common People". Loads of great MP3s courtesy of a link from Dodge at My Olde Kentucky Blog who always has the best downloads! I totally wish I could have been at the SPIN SXSW House Party! Pictures from SXSW are starting to pop up everywhere... Fotoessay let a few leak here and here. And Chart's got SXSW Report Day 4. White Stripes have finished their new album. I don't even care anymore. Just a reminder that Morrissey releases his new live single on Monday! Sad news... One of my favourite teachers passed away over the weekend... RIP Rob Lamb. The Star looks at a recent Statistics Canada survey and predicts what Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver will be like in 2017! (From Blog TO) J9's got a new post on pubic hair. "We're in good company" said Erin with sarcasm when she discovered that the kid who went on the school shooting spree in Minnesota had a LiveJournal. Shudder. Paris has a new Tinkerbell! And it's even more freakishly small! Someone please buy me a Clocky! Three alarms and a kick to the head aren't enough for me to haul ass out of bed some mornings. Sad but true. THIS IS HILARIOUS. (Laughs come from Ultragrrrl)

I'm currently listening to Avril Lavigne via my next-door neighbour's open window. And I'm not complaining.
Chasing the dragon! Pete Doherty's Babyshambles have started work on their debut album in Wales! NERD is dead. :( Chart's SXSW Report: Day 2 and Day 3. I saw Kasabian's video for "Club Foot" this weekend on The Wedge over the weekend and it kinda blew my mind a bit. If I'm still in the country I'll definately be attending their Toronto show May 20th at The Phoenix. Ryan Adams is playing a few North American dates with his new band The Cardinals. The tour comes to The Phoenix in Toronto on May 3rd. Oh and if you haven't seen it yet, you can watch The Tears video for "Refugees" online. Group therapy with Razorlight. Not as dramatic as one would hope. Download a preview of New Order's new album Waiting For The Siren's Call. I love The Superficial! They share our love for Rachel McAdams (one day we'll gather enough kleenex to see The Notebook) and our disgust for Sarah Jessica Parker. Go team! Hollywood's gone and made a shitty-looking new version of 'Bad News Bears'. Those bastards! Anyone wanna come check out the new Danny Boyle flick 'Millions' in Buffalo avec moi? Did anyone else see Ashton Kutcher's amazing Kevin Federline sketch on SNL this weekend? HILARIOUS! Pink Is The New Blog has some entertaining Mischa Barton photo essays lately. Here's one and another.

St Patrick's Day was special. I spent it with beloved friends playing Killer Kings talking about rimming and having people use my bosom as a pillow. Special. I hope you all survived with minimal hangovers!
Pete Doherty and Shane MacGowan celebrated St Patrick’s Day together! Ricky from the Kaiser Chiefs gets a big boo-boo rocking out onstage. Poor baby. Chart's SXSW Report: Day One! And they give props to my beloved Duke Spirit! Download The Raveonettes version of "My Boyfriend's Back" because it's kinda kitschy and charming. This song is so bad it's not even good - just hilariously bad: I Hate You When You're Pregnant "Tanning Booth". The Wall Street Journal investigates "Rock's Oldest Joke". (Link from my favourite blogger Erin) Boytouching! Ewan McGregor reflects on his never-ending sex scene with Christian Bale in Velvet Goldmine. Bahahahah. Loves it. New York Post tackles how to "Save The O.C."! (From Dodge) Okay, this is just hilarious and I'm not even sure why! Look At My Striped Shirt!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
I'm too much in the holiday spirit to give a proper update! A bunch of drunk students just paraded by my house dolled up in every shade of green, beers in hand, and with a guy playing bagpipes amoung them. I stood on my balcony and applauded them! I love this city! Check out Arcade Fire's video for "Rebellion (Lies)". Insane. Get a taste of Coldplay's new single "Speed of Sound". Snow Patrol kicked out their co-founder and bassist. Not nice behavior for such a nice band. Jarvis Cocker is "tres excited" about being a presenter on BBC 6 Music next month! Vice's Mental Illness Issue is online! Last night's America's Next Top Model blew my mind! You know that girl's undiagnosed illness that makes her pass out? It's called ANOREXIA! Paris Wha'Happened?

Silence makes the loudest sound.
Ian Brown has been arrested in San Francisco after an onstage fight with a member of the audience. No charges have been laid (thus far). The whole show (plagued by technical difficulties) sounds eerily reminiscent of his recent Toronto show. The new MOJO explores the legacy of Ian Curtis. (Stereogum) Read about Kaiser Chiefs in Time. (Soviet Panda) NME's got the tracklisting for the new Oasis album "Don't Believe The Truth". Rachel at Scenestars found an unreleased Ryan Adams album. Hot. I still haven't reached a verdict on Louis XIV. I'm totally infatuated with Pink Is The New Blog! Dear Jessica Alba. I love You. Sincerely, Miss Valerie. My Scarberian friend Dart made an excellent point when he said "Scarborough is what the rest of Toronto wishes it was". And like a good journalist he's got proof to back it up here and here. Niagara makes the news for our awesome grow-ops. And yes, even us in St. Catharines make fun of the small towns... And Welland. Naturally. RIP Mike Holmes. Mike was in residence with me first-year and I later got to know when came out dancing at Red Square. What a horrible tragedy. What a great guy.

We're so "it" it's unbelievable!
Pete Doherty claims he's engaged to Kate Moss. Kaiser Chiefs are on the cover of this week's NME. Fuckin right! I've had a bad case of the sniffles these past few days and as I lay in bed and listened to Idlewild's "El Capitan" for the hundredth time I decided to do a little research. It turns out El Capitan is a huge cliff in California that, according to Roddy, depressed people like to climb and then throw themselves from its peak (to their death). Feel good song of the week. Dodge has MP3's from "B" boys like Belle & Sebastian, Ben Lee and Bright Eyes. In case you missed Arcade Fire on Conan like I did you can watch it here. Yawesome. How They Met: Franz Ferdinand. Funny, this is how I imagine meeting my future husband... Lindsayism explores Blog Cheese... I plead guilty. William Shatner "I Am Canadian".

The only news that matters!!! Jarvis Cocker hints Pulp might only be hibernating!!! Please be true! Relaxed Muscle disappoints us so!

Your worst is the best.
Please sign the petition to free Wendy! I wish the government could see that Toronto needs more people like her - we can't afford to lose her! The Sun nailed a great headline with this one... Coldplay have named their new album 'X&Y' and announced that the first single will be "Speed of Sound". That's hot. The Kaiser Chiefs have already made it to the pages of Time Magazine! And so the backlash begins... The new single from Art Brut has a good story behind it... Shirley Manson looks SMOKIN HOT on the new Garbage video for "Why Do You Love Me". I actually want to BE her. Zoilus reports that Brian Eno is speaking at the Art Gallery of Ontario April 21 on "Third Culture: Where Art meets Science." I might wanna go to that... Anyone care to join me? In case, like me, you nerds missed the trailer for the new Star Wars flick, Episode III: Revenge on the Sith, you can watch it here! (Right click, "Save Target As") I have to admit that last night (after The O.C. party) I stayed up late watching Blind Date and Cheaters. I am not above trashy tv. I did it in an effort to better understand my friend's guilty pleasures. I did it for you Ian... only for you. This is the funniest gun safety video in existance!!! It reaffirms my love of irony! (Thanks Tom!)

Just because I rock, doesn’t mean I’m made of stone.
The Toronto news has been full of crazies lately. Scary. Fred Durst has decided not to sue Gawker over the sex tape incident after all. Oh how they crawl when they fall! Morrissey is releasing his cover of Patti Smith's "Redondo Beach" as a single on March 28! Check out Ted Leo doing a medley of Kelly Clarkson's awesome "Since You Been Gone" and the Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Maps". Delightful. Thanks Tom. If you haven't discovered her yet you can download some Regina Spektor over at Scenestars. Gosh, I sure can't resist the keys. My Old Kentucky Blog has loads of goodies. As usual. And, incase you missed it the first time around, you can still download the HILARIOUS Kidz Bop version of "Float On" over at Teaching The Indie Kids To Dance Again! The Last Song You'll Never Hear... Crucial O.C. viewing tonight my pretties! My friend Wes is hilarious and a short film he and some friends made has been accepted by a film festival. It's about the Canadian Paparazzi. You can check out the trailer and some of his other stuff by going to the ZED website and typing evolve_now in the Search box. It's starting to feel like spring... Thus reducing my chances of being a Nippleaire! Well, this winter anyway!

And if I seem a little strange well, that's because I am.
OK. Two albums I need to insist you investigate. And no, sadly, I'm not getting paid to endorse such products :(
1. Kaiser Chiefs debut album 'Employment'. I really cannot rave about it enough and it seems that critics and fans alike agree with my good judgement. I can't imagine anything else topping it as my favourite album of 2005. Go download "Yes, Caroline".
2. Idlewild's 'Warnings/Promises' which is also garnering loads of well-deserved praise.
These records have certainly set the bar very high for other albums being released this year. I hope all other bands are up to the challenge. I'm a big fan of Kill City's "Hooligans on E". Watch a video clip to get a taste of the song which was penned by Lisa Moorish's baby's daddy Mr. Pete Doherty. She is also, as you might know, the mother of Liam Gallagher's daughter. The girl's got taste. Anyway, you can read a really great interview she did with The Evening Standard recently! Remember! The Simple Life is on tonight! Hey all you hippies! What's your Ecological Footprint? If everyone lived like me we would need 3.7 planets. That's hot.

Happy International Women's Day! We love you bitches!
Catatonia are one of my all-time favourite bands so today in honour of my love for them (and this song in particular) I offer up a limited download of Catatonia's "Do You Believe In Me?". Idlewild's fantastic new album Warnings/Promises is out now! We love it! Apparently they're playing The Killers version of Morrissey's "Why Don't You Find Out for Yourself" in Old Navy stores now. Weird. Shirley Manson comes clean. For The Records reviews Keren Ann and A Girl Called Eddy at the Horseshoe Tavern on Sunday night. Um, wasn't I was supposed to go to that. Backstreet Boy and Paris Hilton-beater, Nick Carter, got arrested for drunk driving. Idiot. "9 Songs" (out in the UK on March 11) has been hailed as the most controversial mainstream film in British history. I only want to see it for the live music... Seriously! If I falsely claim to be a lesbian do you think it would get me more date offers? If, like me, you didn't get to see Fat Actress last night you can watch it online. Ian points out another example of the perils of internet dating...

Blue Monday.
Pete Doherty's back in the news and I couldn't be more thrilled (it's awfully dull without him)! This weekend he made a painting using his own blood to express the troubles of fame. Man, just when you think he can't get any more news-worthy he goes and does something like this... Amazing! Mishie has the new (leaked) Coldplay track "Talk" for you downloading pleasure. Stereogum's on fire today! They have another hilarious "Letter of Truth" from Britney, a song Ben Lee wrote for Karen O and Bloc Party buzz. Oasis reveal new details about their new album Don’t Believe The Truth. The first single, "Lyla", "was specifically designed for pogoing" says Noel. In the words of Bedders, "Grimsby Town FC and Franz Ferdinand together at last!" A few pictures from the new Weezer video filmed at the Playboy mansion. Doesn't look as entertaining as I imagined. Chart reviews Kings of Leon's show in Toronto last week. Yawn. 10:51am has an entertaining new sex blog, J9. Are you also having a Blue Monday? Mr Winkle will make everything better!

Aint no some bitch gonna treat me like a whore.
First off, I just wanna send out BIG SMOOCHES to the kind souls who've sent me e-mails these past few days! THANK YOU for showing me the love! I don't know what I did to deserve such nice readers so BLESS YO HEART! Dodge hit the jackpot finding over 700 MP3s from SXSW music festival bands! Run, don't walk! Preview some tracks from Brendan Benson's The Alternative To Love over at his official site. 10:51am Toronto found some kid that posted Rilo Kiley's brilliant More Adventurous. "Pulp is for single people." Discuss. Copy, right? has Peaches covering Eletric Six's "Gay Bar". How did I not know about this? Those Nicky Hilton's body-painting photos are fakes! (Thanks Duarte!) I'm absolutely obsessed with this brilliant NME parody! BEST EVS! Happy Weekending my pretties!

"You don't need alcohol to have a good time, it just makes a good time better.”
Everyone already knows how excited I am about Kaiser Chiefs and now you can take a listen to their new album Employment and judge for yourselves! My verdict: BRILLIANT! Dizzee Rascal has been arrested (and released on bail) in London for carrying "an offensive weapon"... pepper spray! The Tears talk to NME about the new album, Here Come The Tears due out on May 2nd. Peter Hook says New Order and Joy Division are one band. I can't wait for Morrissey's new live CD and DVD! April 4th! Now we all can enjoy the Garden State soundtrack thanks to My Old Kentucky Blog's "man-crush" on Zach Braff. Heraclitus Sayz reviews my new imaginary boyfriend, Patrick Wolf. Weezer shot their new video for "Beverly Hills" at the Playboy mansion so it's bound to be entertaining. Since when did Mariah Carey morph into Beyonce? Is Nicky Hilton the new Paris Hilton? NOT SAFE FOR WORK! Star Jones is suing PETA! As if we all didn't hate her enough to begin with! The O.C. tonight is a rerun from last season and a repeat airing of last week's MINDBLOWING episode featuring what I have come to dub as "The Spidey Kiss"! PUSSY-WHIPPED!

WHOA! I've just finally decided to take a peak at my website traffic... It turns out I'm getting 2000% (yes, thats TWO THOUSAND PERCENT) more traffic than I estimated (thanks for helping with the math Ian). So, now that I feel the pressure, I'd like to make things better! If you have any suggestions please feel free to e-mail me! I'm open to (almost) anything!
I don't want to know if you don't want me.
Sloan's Twice Removed tops Chart's Top 50 Canadian Albums. Again! They beat out stiff competition from Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. Stream "Why Do You Love Me" from the new Garbage album Bleed Like Me. I fuckin love Shirley Manson but I find this song kinda disappointing... Perhaps it will grow on me like their last effort did. My Old Kentucky Blog has links to shedloads of MP3's for your downloading pleasure. As always. For fans of UK summer music festivals NME's got Glastonbury ticket details and Reading tickets are already on sale! New Basement Jaxx video for "Oh My Gosh" featuring cute old people macking each other up at a seniors centre! Looking for a cure for acne? "Take 2 puppies before they can see, chop of their heads and hang them up by the heels to bleed". BARGHH! This is my worst nightmare come true! History is full of the SICKEST SHIT EVER! And the scariest thing is that I tried one of these remedies (rubbing lemons on my face to get rid freckles) as a kid! Best caption ever. MMMM! SWANKBURGER!
The politics of blogging.
So yesterday, after years of blogging, I had my first encounter with a "hater". I was suprised how much it hurt my feelings.
I just want you kids to know that I acknowledge that some of you probably have better taste in music than me, you may all be more scene or underground than me (I'll openly admit that I'm neither) and you are all very likely smarter, cooler, richer, thinner, and better looking than me! I know this! You don't need to tell me!
If you don't like me that's alright, if you disagree with me that's cool too, but please don't personally attack me. And if you don't like my blog then don't read it!
I'm just a sensitive girl with a passion for music and a nerdy hobby (blogging). Please be nice.

Happy endings? They never bored me - they still dont bore me.
Despite being plagued by technical problems Ian Brown put on a fully satisfying show at The Mod Club last night. His perseverance, attempts to entertain, constant apologies and respect for the audience totally won me over... And it didn't hurt that he plays some of my favourite Stone Roses tracks (Sally Cinnamon, She Bangs The Drums, Waterfall, I Wanna Be Adored, etc) and his best solo stuff (F.E.A.R., Love Like A Fountain, Golden Gaze, Dolphins Were Monkeys, Keep What Ya Got, etc). I walked away feeling very impressed (despite all the drama and nearly dying on the treacherous drive to and from the show). Chart reviews Kasabian's "pretty fuckin' amazing" show in Toronto. Kaiser Chiefs new single "Oh My God" entered the British charts at #6! I feel like a proud Mum! I really like this song "Forgiveness" by The Engineers. Bis reform under the new name of Data Panik. Zoilus knows what's goin down in Toronto this month. NBC has sent out emails providing a "sneak preview" of "The Office," the U.S. rip-off of the hilarious BBC show. Lame. Why can't they just leave good TV alone. And since I kinda outed myself last night, I'd like to make it publicly known that I really like the song "Moon River" and that I have classical stations programmed as favourites on my car radio... There I said it... I feel so free now!
